EDTF DONATES DOUBLE BUNKER BEDS, MATTRESSES AND LAPTOPS TO COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES, TOMBIA- EKPETIAMA.

As part of the drive to strengthen the development of quality education in the State, the Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) has donated 100 Metal Double Bunker Beds, 200 Mattress and 10 Laptops to the Bayelsa State College of Nursing Sciences, Tombia -Ekpetiama with the view towards enhancing the learning environment and performance of students in the Institution

Speaking, during the handing over ceremony at the main Auditorium, College of Nursing Sciences, Tombia -Ekpetiama, in Yenagoa LGA, the Executive Secretary EDTF, Professor Ebimieowei Etebu, said, the donation of the items to the Institution was part of the Trust Fund mandate to support the provision of critical educational infrastructures at all level of education in the State. According to him, the provision of the Items will help create more conducive environment for learning in the College stating that, it will improve the standard of education and enhance the health care delivery system in the State. Professor Etebu, commended Governor Douye Diri for his unwavering commitment in the education sector as well as lauded the House Committee on Education and the Leadership of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, the Ministry of Education, Sister Agencies and EDTF team for the tireless efforts towards ensuring the provision of quality and sustainable education in the State. The Executive Secretary therefore, assured the EDTF preparedness to continuously intervene in critical areas of education in the State. He urged the Management of the College and the beneficiaries to safeguard the items and put them to maximum use.

In his remarks, the Chairman, EDTF, High Chief Fidelis Agbiki, said, the donation of the items is part of the EDTF efforts to improve the standard of education in the State. He used the opportunity to describe the intervention as first of its kind in the College and charge the leadership of the Institution for the proper utilization of the facilities to produce positive results.

In his goodwill remarks, the House Committee Chairman on Education, Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Dr. Charles Daniel, expressed gratitude and applauded the EDTF for their dexterity and targeted interventions in the education sector stating that, the gesture will tremendously impact on the learning outcomes and performance of students in the College. The lawmaker noted that, the EDTF programmes has consistently stood out among government initiatives while, urging them to spread their intervention programmes to more Institution within the scope of the Trust Fund.

Earlier, the Provost of the College, Dr. Kenneth Wasini, commended the EDTF and expressed satisfaction for the quality of items supplied to the Institution noting that, the interventions will solve some critical needs of the College.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, King Bubraye Dakolo, who was represented by the Amananaowei of Gbaraintoru, Chief Igonie Dakolo, expressed appreciation and applauded the EDTF for their benevolence and outstanding performance in the education sector. He enjoined government agencies, well-meaning individuals and other Organizations to invest in the educational sector to ensure the provision of quality education in the State noting that, it will enable our children acquire the needed skills to solve problems in the society.

Responding on behalf of the students, the SUG President, College of Nursing Sciences Chapter, Ake Yinks, expressed gratitude and lauded the EDTF for their great support stating that, it will impact on the learning outcome of the College. He assured their willingness to ensure the good use and safety of the items provided for the College.
