EDTF PARTNERS MATIFIC PEDAGOGY ACADEMY, AUSTRALIA AND TTRCB IN TRAINING (123) TEACHERS IN BAYELSA STATE

The Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) in Partnership with Matific Pedagogy Academy and the Teachers Training Registrarion and Certification Board (TTRCB) has organized a Four (4) day training programme on Mathematics for 123 teachers (both Primary and Secondary school teachers) selected from the Eight (8) LGA’s in the State, with the aim to enhance the quality of teachers in Mathematics through innovation and digital learning as well as to boost teachers professional skills in the education sector of the State.

In his remarks, during the opening ceremony at the main Auditorium, St. Jude’s Girls Secondary School, Amarata, in Yenagoa, the Executive Secretary of EDTF, Professor, Ebimieowei Etebu who was represented by Barr. George Ombeh, said, Mathematics is the foundation of science, engineering, medicine, Agriculture and information technology stating that, Governor Douye Diri led prosperity administration remain resolute to continuously invest in teachers professional development to enhance learning outcomes in the Schools.

He explained that, the training programme is geared towards the principles of critical thinking, conceptual understanding and personal learning noting that, the platform will equip teachers with basic learning tools and teaching methods to strengthen the development of education in the State.

The Executive Secretary expressed gratitude and lauded the Matific Pedagogy Academy for bringing their expertise to bear on the educational sector of the State while, assuring the EDTF willingness to make significant contribution and meaningful impacts towards the growth of education in Bayelsa State.

He urged the benefiting teachers to take the training seriously to acquire the needed skills to impart on the children stressing that, the EDTF will ensure strict monitoring to the schools to evaluate the level of progress and impacts achieved through the training programme in the schools.

Declaring the training open, the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah, expressed gratitude and commended the EDTF and Matific Pedagogy Academy for establishing Mathematics training programme in the State.

He explained that, the continuous training of teachers and learning is essential for professional growth stating that, Teachers capacity development is relevant towards improving classroom performance outcomes.

The Education Commissioner used the opportunity to commend teachers for their impressive performance on the 2026 Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria professional qualifying Examination and placed 5th Nation wide stating that, the achievement was through the numerous teachers professional training programmes noting that, it has produced positive result in the educational system of Bayelsa State

He admonished the participants to overcome the fear of Mathematics and take advantage of the training programme to ensure positive learning outcomes in the schools.

In their separate goodwill remarks, the Executive Chairman TTRCB, Dr. (Mrs.) Stella Peremoboere Ugolo and the Permanent Secretary, Post Primary Schools Board (PPSB) Mr. Faith Ogbara, expressed gratitude and applauded the EDTF for their uncommon commitment towards improving Mathematics education in the State while, urging the participants to make best use of the opportunity to advance their teaching skill and improve learning outcomes noting that, training teachers with modern teaching techniques and strategies is aimed at improving classroom practicals as well as to enhance children performance in Mathematics in the schools.

Also speaking, the representative, Matific Pedagogy Academy, Customer Success Manager and Business Development Executive, Ghana, Ali Muanim, applauded the State Government and EDTF for their vision and fruitful partnership with Matific Pedagogy stating that, Matific digital platform is designed to simplify the teaching and learning of Mathematics adding that, it will support the monitoring of the progress of learners as well as to enhance classroom instructions without the role of teachers.
