EDTF DONATES LEARNING MATERIALS TO 225 SECONDARY SCHOOLS/ TECHNICAL COLLEGES AND DRAWING STUDIO/ SCIENCE EQUIPMENT FOR FIVE GOVERNMENT SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE IN BAYELSA STATE.

EDTF DONATES LEARNING MATERIALS TO 225 SECONDARY SCHOOLS/ TECHNICAL COLLEGES AND DRAWING STUDIO/ SCIENCE EQUIPMENT FOR FIVE GOVERNMENT SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE IN BAYELSA STATE.

As part of efforts to support the provision of quality and sustainable education in the State, the Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) has donated Learning Materials as well as Science and Drawing Studio Equipment to 225 Public Schools and Five Government Science and Technical Colleges across the Eight Local Government Area of the State which is aimed at strengthening the foundation of education and enhance better learning outcomes.

In his welcome remarks during the hand over ceremony at the Fund Secretariat, Education House, in Yenagoa, the Executive Secretary EDTF, Professor Ebimieowei Etebu said, the distribution of the learning items to the schools were to bridge critical gaps in the education sector as well as to improve the standard of learning culture in the schools.

He further explained that, the handing over of the learning items which are not just tools but, they are critical keys unlocking potential, sparkling curiosity and fostering the love for learning.

Professor Etebu expressed gratitude to Governor Douye Diri for his continuous support and lauded the synergy between the EDTF and other stakeholders in the educational sector of the State stating that, the EDTF remains committed to intervene in critical areas of need in the educational sector with the availability of resources

He therefore, urged everyone to keep education at the forefront as the primary tool for development to ensure Bayelsa State remain the hub.of learning and progress.

In his remarks, the Chairman, EDTF, High Chief Fidelis Agbiki, said, the provision of the learning items is part of the EDTF unwavering commitment to improve the standard of education in the State.

He expressed satisfaction for the distribution of the learning materials to the schools stating that, the initiative is a testament to the EDTF shared commitments towards improving the learning environment and academic excellence.

The EDTF Chairman assured the Board readiness to support the development of education to promote qualitative education and better learning outcomes.

Speaking, the Commission of Education, Dr.Gentle Emelah, applauded the State Government and EDTF for the great gesture and assured government commitment towards raising the standard of education adding that, the administration would not relent in its efforts towards repositioning the educational system to produce tangible results in Bayelsa State

In his goodwill remarks, the House Committee Chairman on Education, Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Dr. Charles Daniel, expressed appreciation and commended the EDTF for their performance and consistency for supporting educational growth in the State noting that, it has distinguish itself for fulfilling its mandate.

The lawmaker also appeal for the distribution of the learning materials to more secondary schools in the rural communities across the State.

Responding on behalf of the benefiting schools, the principal of Government Secondary School, Ogbia Mr. Ebegu Robinson, expressed gratitude and lauded the EDTF for their giant strides in the educational sector while, assuring their preparedness to ensure the proper use and maintenance of the items donated to the schools.
