STEB, EDTF DISTRIBUTES SCIENCE AND AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENTS TO FIVE RURAL SECONDARY SCHOOLS.

Commissioner of Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah has praised the State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) for consistently supporting laudable initiatives aim at advancing the frontiers of education in Bayelsa State. Dr. Emelah stated this shortly after the official presentation of Science and Agricultural equipment to five Community Secondary Schools at the Ministry in Yenagoa. The Education Commissioner lauded for supporting the Science and Technical Education Board STEB in procuring and distributing the equipment to promote science education and agriculture in secondary schools.

Also speaking, the Acting Chairman of EDTF, Professor Francis Sikoki said science remains the bedrock of development in any society. According to Professor Sikoki, it was in recognition of the importance of science education that the EDTF is intervening in the sector.

The Chairman of STEB, Professor Ayebaemi Spiff also poured encomium of the EDTF for funding the supply of equipment which she described as critical to the schools if science education is accorded it’s rightful place in the system.

Speaking of behalf of the benefitting schools, Principal of Community Secondary School Emeyal, Mrs. Susan Ekpekpei appreciated the State Government for the provision of the equipment saying it will go a long way in aiding learning of science subjects.

Mrs. Ekpekpei said it had been a difficult experience learning sciences theoretically while thanking the EDTF for making practical classes a reality for the befitting schools.

She promised to safeguard the equipment zealously and to make judicious use of them.
