THIRD INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT TRUST FUND (EDTF) BOARD
The newly inaugurated 3rd Board of the Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) held her inaugural meeting on the 16th of October, 2025, at the Fund Secretariat, Education House, Yenagoa.
Presiding over the meeting, the Board Chairman, High Chief Fidelis Agbiki emphasized the need for members to imbibe the spirit of oneness, unity, dedication and teamwork to achieve the set goals and objectives of the Trust Fund as well as to make remarkable impacts in the education sector. He explained that the EDTF is not a contract-awarding organ but an interventionist agency with the mandate to intervene in critical educational programmes to improve the quality of education in the State. The Board Chairman commended members for their quick response to the meeting and appealed for their professional contributions and support to sustain the legacies of the previous Board.
Speaking, the Executive Secretary of the EDTFB, Professor Ebimieowei Etebu, assured his preparedness to work with members to achieve the aims and objectives of the Trust Fund as well as to advance the development of the educational sector in line with the Assured Prosperity Agenda of Governor Douye Diri.
