THE GROUP PRESIDENT AND CEO OF EZIKEL GROUP OF COMPANIES PROMISE TO BE A PILLAR OF SUPPORT OF EDTF BOARD
The Group President and Chief Executive Officer of Ezikel Group of Companies, Dr. Godbless Azibapu Eruani has promised to be a pillar of support to the EDTF Board for the development of education in Bayelsa State.
The industrialist and the EDTF pillar of support had donated Ten Million Naira to the Trust Fund for the support of educational development in the State.
Speaking with Members of the Funds Generation and investment committee of the EDTF in his office, Swali in Yenagoa, Dr. Eruani said his passion for the development of the State is unwavering especially in the education sector.
The industrialist and philanthropist who expressed satisfaction with the EDTF stated that he will continue to push the frontiers of development to place the state in the map of development in the committee of states.
Dr. Eruani who aligned himself with the programmes of the fund said education remains the bedrock of society noting that any well meaning government and organization must bequeath sound education for the present and future generations.
He assured the EDTF of his continued support to achieve set goals while thanking the board for honouring him.
Earlier, leader of the delegation and Acting Chairman of the Board, Professor Francis Sikoki said the Visit was in line with the funds mandate to seek support and donations from well meaning Bayelsans within and outside the State.
Professor Sikoki highlighted some of the mandate to include addressing school dropout rate, intervening in general upgrade of education in all tiers of education in the state.
According to the Acting Chairman, the remote nature of most schools in the state calls for special attention from well meaning and public spirited individuals.
He further stated that the challenges in the education sector are enormous hence the need to reach out to more Bayelsans and friends of the state for contribution to the fund.
Professor Sikoki highlighted some of the areas of the Board’s intervention to include providing for smooth operation 12 model secondary schools, which has revived boarding education in the state, training of teachers in the primary and secondary schools, provision of skills acquisition for youths in the 8 Local Government Areas, provision of ICT facilities to secondary and tertiary institutions in the state, provision of coding and robotics Programme and technovation programmes for secondary students amongst offers.
