The world  today is driven by Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), and the Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) being mindful of this stack reality has sponsored the establishment of a 300 Computer Base Testing Centre for the University of Africa, Toru-Orua in Sagbama Local Government of Bayelsa State, South-South, Nigeria.

The testing centre has been approved by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), a Nigerian institution responsible for conducting examinations for students wishing to enter the university. the Centre serves as a catchment for parts of Bayelsa and Delta States in Nigeria.

With the centre, students of the university conveniently access materials online for their academic endeavours including research purposes.

Through the facility, exchange programs are done without restrain.

Interestingly, the University of Africa has signed a cooperative program with the RUDN University of Moscow, Russia (Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia with 28,000 students from 15 countries) whereby 70 selected students from the faculty of Social and Management Sciences participating in an online study with Russian Students.

The main focus is to study economic integration as it is happening in Europe and Asia. These experiences will expose the students to understand the current efforts towards integrating African economics.

Besides, RUDN has offered a significant number of scholarships to Bayelsa students to pursue their Masters and Doctorate Programs there. Social labs and other research projects will also be organized and implemented.

Bayelsa currently leads these efforts in transnational education, which results in a greater understanding of the world and an increased awareness of the possibilities of learning and working together.

The EDTF grant of 300 computers to UAT has made this exchange possible.
