FEEDING AND PROVISION OF SUNDRY EXPENSES
The Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund (EDTF) Board at its inauguration was among other things, mandated to see to the successful running of the eleven Model Secondary Schools in the State.
This include provision of food for the scholars in the boarding facilities, drugs supply for the sick bays to cater for their health needs, potable water, electricity, sanitation and other sundry expenses.
Eighty percent of funds accruing to the Trust Fund is expended on this item in the eleven model schools especially with the ever increasing prices of food items, diesel and other consumables in Nigeria.
Nonetheless, the Fund is committed to executing this enormous task as no boarding school can ever function with the provision of feeding for the student.
As government scholars, the Fund is determined to ensure they are not distracted from their studies as no hungry child will be in the right frame of mind to assimilate anything taught in the class.
