The Executive secretary of Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund, Dr. (Mrs.) Alice Atuwo say the reconstituted Board is ready to drive home its policies and programmes in the next four years.
Dr. (Mrs.) Atuwo stated this at the end of a retreat for Board members to develop a work Plan for the Fund in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Executive Secretary hinted that the retreat became imperative to give direction of the fund in the Coming Years in line with its core mandate of improving the quality of education in Bayelsa State.
She also noted that it afforded the new members who showed enthusiasm in the retreat which was more of an academic exercise and the display of their willingness to work as a team.
Also speaking Professor Francis Sikoki lauded the Chairman, Professor Turner Isoun for approving the retreat, describing it as a success.
Professor Sikoki noted that planning is crucial for measuring progress as it remains the roadmap for policy execution.
In his remark, Mr. Tobias James described the retreat as innovative and an avenue for stock taking.
Also, Dr. (Mrs.) Adombazi said such brainstorming was needed to chart a new course of action for the Fund.
On his part, Mr. John Edoghotu said the EDTF has remained a unique Board in the State and Members are determined to leave worthy imprints at the end of the tenure of the current Board and sue for more of such sessions to achieve desired objectives.
