Due to the shortage of teaching staff in the state-owned school for individuals with special needs, and with the planned expansion of the Special School to the eight Local Government capitals of the state, the Education Development Trust Fund, embarked on a Teachers Training Programme to bridge the gap created by the lack of teaching staff and also due to the fact that most of the teaching staff are mainly non-indigenes which could be detrimental in the area of education.
