Bayelsa State EDTF Board Appeals Incoming Government To Sustain Biotechnology Development Resource Centre

The epoch making occasion was Chaired by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. (Barr). Kemela Okara who doubles as transition committee Chairman of the Restoration Government led by Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson. Other guests present at the ceremony includes Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Tonye Isenah, Executive Secretary of the EDTF, Dr. (Mrs). Atuwo Alice and other Board members

The Education Development Trust Fund Board and other dignitaries was taken on tour around the laboratory and facilities of the biotechnology resource centre before proceeding to kick start the ceremony proper

Speaking on behalf of the EDTF Board, Prof. Turner T. Isoun reiterated he has not seen any country or government that satisfactorily funded education but he must commend Gov Seriake Henry Dickson for revitalising the Biotechnology Development Resource Centre and beseech the new administration to take the sustainability of the centre as top priority because Biotech has the potentials to address challenges relating to the environment, agriculture, energy and human capacity building

Chairman of the occasion, Barr. Okara extolled the EDTF Board for partnering and reviving Biotech and promised to interact with the transition committee of the incoming administration to sustain the biotechnology Development Resource Centre upon assumption of office
