BAYELSANS TOLD TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT TRUST FUND

Residents in Bayelsa State have been charged to take ownership and invest in the Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund in order to enable their children access good and qualitative education.

The Chairman, Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund Board, Professor Turner Isoun, gave the charge while speaking with news men shortly after the Board’s 9th meeting in his Office in Yenagoa.
He said, within the thirteen month of the Fund’s existence, it has made significant achievements with the intervention in several programmes by providing funds for educational facilities both in the Tertiary and Model Secondary Schools across the State.

According to him, the Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund is among the leading Educational Trust Funds in the Country. The State Trust Fund has gained national recognition and adjudged the most progressive in strengthening the Educational in the State.

The Chairman noted that, Science and Technology will be accorded priority as it has been identified as the pivot for development and the pillar for job creation.

He therefore, urged all residents in the State, Oil Companies, International Donors, Faith Based Organisation, Business Men, Politicians, Market Women, Transporters, and other lovers of Education to participate and contribute to the scheme by way of cash voucher to enhance qualitative education in the State.
